Baitball™ LLC was established in 1996 by Ed and Don Slawson, designed and operated by fisherman, for fisherman. Baitball™ is the first and only company to design and build a durable, easy to maintain 100% roto-molded bait receiver that complies with harbor municipal codes. Our commitment to building quality marine products comes from a lifelong passion for fishing and boating, as well as working extensively with the commercial, government, and OEM fishing and boating industries. Our entire line of products are made in America by a family owned and operated business located in Oceanside, California.
Our comprehensive research and development began in 1996 when we built our first bait receivers out of fiberglass for the White Sea Bass Foundation, The Longfin tackle store, and Tony Reyes Sportfishing. Hand drilling thousands of holes in fiberglass turned out to be slow and labor intensive. In an attempt to simplify the process we tried routering horizontal slots. The problem with horizontal slots (as used by our competitors) is they create poor water circulation; which is key to maintaining healthy bait, especially in Baja and back harbors where warm water and poor circulation is a concern. Our deep, perforated tanks give bait the ability to thrive in deeper water, which is both cooler and cleaner. Baitball™ bait receivers are now made of tough polyethylene plastic, giving us the ability to perforate our tanks and produce the worlds best bait receiver.
